Have you ever wondered if there was more to life? Do you sit in your cubicle staring at the clock, waiting for 5:00 to roll around?
That was me for a long time. Although I never worked in a cubicle, I felt stuck in my life. Failing marriage, boring work, and just waiting for Friday to roll around so I could relax with a glass of wine. Or five. I knew that there were people out there who were making more of themselves, but I wasn't sure how to get there. I knew that I definitely didn't want to go back to school and incur more debt to gain a degree that may or may not get me another job. And a job wasn't what I was really looking for anyway. It was an opportunity.
But first:
Let me give you a bit of my background. Health and fitness have always been a huge priority for me. I grew up as a ballet dancer on a professional track. In that field, hard work isn't an option. Its mandatory. By age 10, I was taking class ten hours per week. My entire life was devoted to ballet. At that pace, by age 16 I was burnt out. I quit ballet and moved on to more "fun" endeavors: cheerleading and weightlifting. I excelled at both ofthose activities and won competitions and awards in both. That lead to me working for a national chain of fitness clubs while in college, where I was working towards my business degree. That degree didn't manifest, because after my first year in school, I developed a debilitatingly severe case of depression. After dropping out of school, I bounced around from job to job, career to career, and relationship to relationship before moving back to my small hometown in Oregon. There, I received the mental health help that I needed, and found some stability. I opened a coffee shop, got married, had a child, and settled into small-town stagnance. But as my high school reunion approached, I decided it was time to "get back on track." And so, I joined a gym. After rediscovering my love of fitness, I became a personal trainer and group exercise instructor, did some fitness modeling, and competed in a figure bodybuilding show.
Things seemed to be on a upturn, and yet, I still felt like something was missing. Looking back, it was that I didn't have freedom. Although technically I was my own boss, I was working around other people's schedules. I was working for gyms that decided what I was worth, and what I could do with my training. I was helping people towards their goals, without working on my own. And what even were my goals? I wasn't sure. But I knew that it was something along the lines of creating a life of abundance.
And so, one day, as I was working out in one of my gyms, I met someone new. It was a completely happenstance encounter, as this gentlemen didn't even live in my state, and was just visiting. As we got to talking, he mentioned his company, which was a startup in the "brain space" segment of the trillion dollar health and wellness supplement industry. As someone who has dealt with mental health issues, I found this highly intriguing. Brain supplements without drugs? Plant based mental health relief? Focus, drive, and reaction time improvement from plants? This was unlike anything I'd ever heard of, and I knew I needed to hear more. Enter Allysian Sciences. The company was founded by Apolo Ohno, the most decorated U.S. winter Olympian of all time. The vision that he developed was about changing lives, by changing brain health, perception, and mindset. These were three things that I drastically needed in my own life. I jumped aboard the company during it's first month of pre-launch, and can safely say that it has been a life-changing ride. My days now consists of a few parts: Training clients in the mornings. Mid-days of coffee dates, personal development, and laughter. More clients in the late afternoons. Evenings of relaxation and "couple time." And weekends of play and abundance. During those weekends of play, while I'm not working, my (international) team still is. Together, we make an income in our off-time, by leveraging our resources, trainings, and time. When I say, "A life of abundance," I'm not talking about material possessions or mass consumerism. I'm talking about an abundance of time, of freedom, and of true friendship.
The company is still in the pre-launch stage, and as such, we still need some assistance with our global expansion. If you too, feel like your life is at a stagnant point, where you're not sure how to get to where you want to be, please fill out the form for more information. Cheers to a life spent in prosperity, not routine!
